Northern Cape

The Northern Cape (Noord-Kaap in Afrikaans; eMntla-Koloni in Xhosa; Kapa Bokone in Tswana) is South Africa’s largest and most sparsely populated province. When the Cape Province was divided up in 1994, it was founded. Kimberley is the capital. It includes the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, which is part of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and is shared with Botswana. The Augrabies Falls and the diamond mining districts of Kimberley and Alexander Bay are also included.
